My Latest Experience With Mexican Food

Last weekend, my family decided to have a ‘cheat-day’ and eat some tasty Mexican Food. For vegetarians, like my family, finding a Mexican Restaurant with vegetarian options is difficult. Luckily, we found a store that had a separate menu, just for vegetarians! We went crazy! Apart from this, complimentary nachos were delivered to our table with unlimited delicious salsa. My family devoured this free appetizer like we had not eaten all day!

Within the next few minutes our food arrived. Our table was filled with many different types of Enchiladas. These meals were filled and topped with cheese. After enjoying the first few bites, my stomach started to feel terrible. I also started drinking a lot of water. What went wrong? Did I have an allergy to something in this food?

The next day, I updated an application I downloaded to keep track of my calories called ‘My Fitness Pal’. I realized that the food I had eaten was almost 800 calories! On top of that, nothing that I ate had any nutritional value!

After investigating further, I realized that Enchiladas and nachos were made of white bleached flour and filled with beans and vegetables that were heavily fried and loads of cheese. The reason I was drinking so much water is because my body could not take all this unhealthy food at once. The oil from this food was upsetting my stomach and drying up my throat.

Although I enjoyed a tasty meal for half an hour, I ended up feeling sick for the next day because of what I had eaten. Next time, I hope to be more careful on what I eat, even on ‘cheat-days’.
