In the summer of 2015, I began my journey of reaching out to children and teens. After a lot of thought and discussions with family, I bought a website name called mynutritionmeter.com from GoDaddy with my pocket money. However, I canceled that a few months later as I did not think it was worth it because it was much more than I needed at that time. Then, I replaced it with a free Google Blogpost website, but I deleted that as well because the graphics did not suit my needs. I posted a couple blogs on google before moving to my current website, http://mynutritionmeter.wixsite.com/nutrition
After considering many names that I brainstormed at home, I came up with the perfect one, My Nutrition Meter. I chose this name because I believe that measuring nutrition should be an important part of our life. In these first two years, my mind was flooded with various thoughts. One of these thoughts was that writing a couple blogs each week. I quickly realized that it is not helping me achieve my goal as not many people knew about my blog. Therefore, I have decided to reach out to friends, family and the people around them through Facebook etc.
Although I am a vegetarian, I am not against people eating meat. My focus is to reach thousands of teen and children and educate:
The importance of checking nutritional value of food over calories
Bringing more awareness to the value of vegetables and fruits
Promoting low intake of sugar (except for on cheat days!)
I am not an expert, just a teen who is observing her own eating habits while observing others around her. This blog is my effort to make an impact on Teen and Children's health.
My inspiration to do this came from my father who has been transforming himself and the people around him by sharing the knowledge from our favourite book, “Eat to Live” by Dr. Fuhrman.
Please join me in this journey to make a change in the way we all look at food.
