After school, I usually walk for 30 minutes to my tutoring centre. Since I save some money from not taking the bus home from school, I stop by Starbucks to buy a brownie. However, the day after I shared Sin Azucar's photo project with you all, I felt like checking the amount to calories that were in the Starbucks brownie I was eating 4 days a week. I was shocked! I could not believe something the size of half my hand could have 410 calories! That's almost the amount of calories people should be eating in one meal! In other words, a small brownie takes up 25% of the amount of calories a person of my age should be eating in an entire day. I immediately stopped myself and started looking at something else I could buy as I needed something to eat to last me the next two hours. After checking the amount of calories in every single food, I concluded that the croissant was the best deal because it was 240 calories and would fill me up enough.

When I came home, I decided to check the nutritional values of both the croissant and brownie on the Starbucks website. I saw this,

Butter Croissant Double Chocolate Chip Brownie

Although the Butter Croissant is a better option in terms of calories, it is definitely not a healthy snack and should be avoided. After this realization, I am currently trying to find out how to replace this unhealthy snack with something thats not only filling but also nutritious.
