Thank you Jasmine for writing about your experience at Tim Hortons. I hope you will keep contributing and help me on this Journey to improve the health of children and teens.

"The last time I ate out, it was just a quick run to Tim Hortons to grab a meal in between writing tests during exam break. Stressed as I was, I was craving something hot and maybe a little cheesy. When I looked at the menu, there were certainly many options that would have suited my cravings, but I stopped to think. My body functions best when I eat what's good for me, and I'd perform best in my tests if I ate like that. So I opted out of the many tempting options, and decided to go for a chicken salad, opting out off the cheese and creamy Caesar dressing to go for simple vinaigrette. I'm definitely glad I decided to go for the salad because it left me feeling satisfied and full in a way that I didn't feel bloated, as well as reenergized in a way that the junk food wouldn't have given me. The salad was high in vitamins and other nutrients like folic acid, and the chicken added a great boost of protein and carbs. By avoiding the cheese and Caesar dressing, I was able to cut down on extra fats and calories that I didn't need. All in all, it was a worthy meal, and I went on with my day feeling great knowing I had made a great choice for my body."
