Deaths from heart disease has increased greatly in America, India and other countries. Dr. Sanjay Gupta has spoken to many nutritional experts (Dr. Dean Ornish and Caldwell Esselstyn) and has come up with a discovery that, if followed, may stop all future heart attacks. His discovery is a diet filled with many vegetables, fruits and whole grains. No processed foods and no meat, dairy, fish or chicken.
Incase if you do not know, heart attacks are caused by large cholesterol particles form plaque large enough to block your coronary arteries. Watch the video to learn more!
The nutritional experts that Gupta has spoken too have helped people as important as former president Bill Clinton decrease their chances of suffering from a heart attack. Dr. Dean Ornish worked with him after he had suffered from a heart attack to change his unhealthy diet to improve his health. After going completely vegan for a while, Clinton claimed that he needed a lot less sleep and felt a lot better and more energized at all times. Bill Clinton clearly stated that anyone, even his age, could change their lives and the health of their hearts by eating lots of nutritious foods daily and focus deeply on how what they eat will effect their future. Although it is not easy to change your diet, it is very important and satisfying!
Dr. Esselstyn came up with a diet that people with a risk of suffering from a heart attack or people who have survived a heart attack can follow in order to reverse the amount of plaque built up in their arteries and make their heart a lot healthier. This diet is strictly vegan and consists of whole grains, fruits and a TON of vegetables. He claims that if someone were to follow this diet, they could reverse the amount of plaque in their arteries and be on the path of decreasing their chances of having a heart attack.
Sharon Kintz, a retired woman who has suffered from a heart attack refused to go to the doctor for treatments and instead decided to follow and put her life on the line to just to follow and test Ellelstyn's diet. After a while of following his strict diet, she got news from her cardiologist saying that she no longer had the risk of suffering from another heart attack. Just like Sharon, you and someone around you can decrease your chances of suffering from a heart attack just by paying attention to what you put into your body.
Sanjay Gupta is taking care of elders and I am approaching kids and teens. The reason I am sharing this information to many children and teenagers is because I think if we take care of our eating habits now, we should eliminate the possibility of suffering from a heart attack in the future or otherwise we risk suffering from one.
