Undo It - With Ornish

After learning that it is possible to take steps to remove one's chances of having a first or second heart attack, I decided to check out Dr. Dean Ornish's website. Dean Ornish, as I said in my last post, worked with Bill Clinton after the former president suffered from his first heart attack to take the steps possible to improve his health.

While scrolling through his website I came across a section called the Reversal Program. There was a picture (on the left) that shows the different aspects someone has to work on to decrease their chances of building up plaque in their arteries and increase the possibility of a reversal.

The four root causes of heart disease and any heart related event is, an unhealthy diet, no exersize, stress and no support. By slowly improving these four important lifestyle elements, you could change the way you feel each day. In fact, Dr. Dean Ornish even claims that even the most severe heart diseases can be reversed just by these simple lifestyle changes that will help you manage stress and feel more energy.

In my opinion, I think that nutrition is the most important of these four elements. This is because, eating nutritious foods will allow you to feel more energy which will lead to less stress and less laziness. I would encourage all of you to share this post, and my previous post, with people you know to help reduce their risk of developing a heart related disease.
