Nutrient-dense foods are low in calories but are rich in many vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and more. Such foods are essential in the diet of a healthy person.

Dr. Joel Fuhrman created a nutrient density index that lists many different foods and ranks them on how nutritious they are. These foods are ranked on the amount of, fiber, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, zinc, Vitamin A, B, E and many more nutrients they include.
I am very happy to see that I am eating the majority of the first thirty-two foods on a weekly basis. My two least favorite foods to eat, spinach and kale, I consume quickly by drinking a green smoothie in the morning so that I have the right nutrients in my body to keep myself energized throughout the day.
Researching for this post did teach me that Corn chips are extremely unhealthy. I always thought that they weren't that bad so I would eat them as my snack almost every day. In fact, I was eating them while researching. Now that I am aware of how unhealthy they are, I will try to cut them out of my diet and replace them with something healthier.
