Questionnaire: Vanessa's Answers

Over Spring Break, I created a questionnaire for many of my friends to answer based off of what they believe. I will post some more answers to my questionnaire's as more of my friend's complete it.

 

Q1. For some teens, processed food can make up as much

as 30-40% of their diet. What do you think it impacts?

A1. I think it can impact their health and how well they generally function everyday

Q2. According to my research the reason why teens buy fast food is because it is cheap, popular and available everywhere? What do you think about it?

A2. I eat fast food, not because it is cheap, but because it's easily accessible and fast

Q3. National Diet and Nutrition Survey found that only 9% of teenagers ate their recommended five-a-day of fruit and veg.How do you think we can change that?

A3. I think if we incorporate fruits and vegetables in a different way than just eating them plain, teens would be more likely to eat them

Q4. We’re in the middle of a teenage malnutrition epidemic where junk food diets are depriving their brains of vital nutrients, how can we reverse this and make teenagers eat healthier?

A4. Maybe if teens were more aware of what could happen to them if they have a unhealthy diet, they would be motivated to eat healthier

Q5. Poor nutrition is a leading cause of bad behaviors, low academic results and high rates of teen depression. How can we educate people on the importance of teen nutrition?

A5. I think that schools should have a lesson on it in health class

Q6. Age 13 to 18 is the period of growth spurts, frantic hormone activity and high academic stress – in fact, the body needs a higher amount of nutrients then more than at almost any other time of life. How important do you think it is to be eating healthy foods, especially at this age?

A6. I think it is very important to eat Healthy foods at this age so we can deal with all that comes with this period of time

Q7. Can parents be responsible in creating unhealthy eating habits for their children?

A7. Absolutely, they are the ones who choose the foods that are available to their children
