Why You Shouldn't Worry About Calories on Thanksgiving

In my book, I mentioned that there are around 30 total holidays in the year where everyone enjoys going all out with their eating. Thanksgiving is one of them. An article by Health shares "One single indulgent meal—even one whole day of high-calorie eating—is absolutely not going to destroy anyone's metabolism, cause them to gain some tremendous amount of weight, or ruin longer-term goals". It is perfectly fine to eat as much as your heart desires on days like Thanksgiving - as long as you promise yourself to go back to a healthier way of life after. If you eat healthy for around 200 days in a year, eating freely for 30 days will not have a strong impact on your health. Weight gain and the deterioration of your health only happens after weeks of an unhealthy lifestyle.

Naturally, your body will burn off the thousands of calories you will eat on these special days through exercise and a healthy diet. Many people feel like they should skip breakfast and even lunch after their huge Thanksgiving dinner because they ate so many calories. However, it is important to get up the next morning and eat a high protein breakfast along with a couple glasses of water to get your body back to its better way of eating. So, do not eat left overs after Thanksgiving. Throw them out or give them away because continuously eating these foods will cause you to gain a lot of weight.

My family tries to follow this concept a lot. On our birthdays and other parties we always eat as much as we want and promise our selves to go back to our regular way of eating right after. This allows us to have a good time with our friends and live a healthy lifestyle.
